MSU Holds Workshop to Improve Self-Assessment Reports for Higher EdPEx Results in Academic Year 2025

Mahasarakham University organized a workshop to improve the quality of self-assessment reports under the EdPEx criteria. The activity aimed to prepare faculties and units for the internal quality assessment of the 2025 academic year. It also supported the university’s goal of achieving stronger and more systematic assessment results.

On June 4, 2026, the Division of Planning, Office of the President, Mahasarakham University, organized the Mahasarakham University Organizational Excellence Development Project (EdPEx) under the topic “Workshop on Enhancing the Quality of Self-Assessment Reports Based on EdPEx Criteria.” The workshop was held at Ratchaphruek Meeting Room, 1st floor, Faculty of Public Health, Mahasarakham University. Prof. Anongrit Kangrang, Ph.D., Vice President for Policy and Planning, presided over the opening ceremony.

The workshop was honored by Asst. Prof. Paranee Boonchai, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, and Songpol Uthaisarn, Ph.D., Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs and Educational Quality Assurance, Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management, who served as speakers and led practical training on preparing Self-Assessment Reports (SAR). The training used a case study from the Faculty of Fine-Applied Arts and Cultural Science and covered detailed content from Category 1 to Category 7 under the EdPEx criteria.

In addition, the workshop provided a platform for knowledge exchange and experience sharing from the perspective of Thailand Quality Award (TQA) assessors. The speakers were university personnel who had joined the “TQA New Assessor Training 2026” program, including Prof. Anongrit Kangrang, Ph.D., Vice President for Policy and Planning; Assoc. Prof. Sirinart Tongsiri, M.D., Deputy Dean for Research and Educational Quality Assurance, Faculty of Medicine; and Asst. Prof. Arisapat Sutthidee, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for Educational Quality Development and Digital Services, Mahasarakham Business School. The session was moderated by Mr. Kampanat Archa, Senior Professional Educator.

This project was organized following Mahasarakham University’s plan for internal quality assessment based on EdPEx criteria at both faculty and institutional levels for the 2025 academic year. Faculty-level assessments are scheduled during July 2–23, 2026, while the institutional-level assessment is scheduled on July 24, 2026. From the EdPEx knowledge-sharing meeting held on May 14, 2026, most faculties expressed the need for an additional workshop on writing self-assessment reports. Therefore, the Division of Planning organized this project to respond to these needs and prepare all related units.

The workshop aimed to help participants practice using data from their own units and apply the knowledge gained to prepare complete, well-connected, and systematic SAR documents. The training was designed to help reports clearly reflect organizational performance with maximum effectiveness. A total of 60 participants joined the project, including faculty executives and personnel involved in preparing SAR documents for faculties and units.
